GHIRARDELLI SODA FOUNTAIN AND CHOCOLATE SHOP:

Sink your spoon through a fluffy tower of whipped cream right down to the gooey hot fudge and cool vanilla ice cream. Mmmm ... Sound good? That's just a taste of what you'll find at the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop -- a real San Francisco treat.

Guests can purchase hand-scooped shakes, malts, ice cream sodas and ice cream cones at the old-fashioned soda fountain. A chocolate shop, next to the soda fountain, sells chocolates and gift packages, such as chocolate-dipped spoons, decorative tins filled with chocolates, truffles, and the Caf?ollection of chocolate and coffee beverages. Ghirardelli's Baby Premier Collection features smaller-sized chocolate bars wrapped in bright colors. True choc-aholics will want to try the Double Chocolate Mocha or Dark Chocolate with Raspberries bars.

Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop is at the Downtown Disney Marketplace, between World of Disney and Team Mickey.

GUITAR GALLERY:

"Art you can play" is the slogan of Guitar Gallery, the retail guitar shop which features more than 150 custom, collector, rare and unique guitars from world-wide manufacturers. Even if you're not a musician, a peek inside this store is worth the effort. You'll see hand-decorated guitars, such as a surrealistic "Wonderland" Washburn guitar created by Sammy Hagar and his son. An Ibanez model features a hand-carved Egyptian scene on its wooden face. Guitars are suspended from hand-brushed aluminum walls and encased in rotating, tubular display cases. Oversized guitar picks singed by famous guitar players make up the store's "Rock 'n Roll Alley"

Guitar Gallery is located at Downtown Disney West Side, opposite to Virgin Mega Store. Contact: 407-827-0118.

HOYPOLOI:

It isn't surprising that you instantly begin to relax when you enter this "gallery of art and decor." Soothing music plays in the background and water trickles over Japanese river stones in the Zen fountains. The aroma of pine, sage and berry wafts from a scented oil display. In fact, Hoypoloi's (pronounced hoy pa loy') mantra is to help its customers create a tranquil home environment with handmade artwork and nature-related home products. One of the store's signature items is its Japanese Zen Board. When water is applied to the paper board, the brush stroke turns black; when it dries, the image disappears forever, illustrating the importance of "enjoying the moment."

Hoypoloi is located at Downtown Disney West Side, between Sosa Family Cigars Co. and Celebrity Eyeworks. Contact: 407-827-0112.

LEGO IMAGINATION CENTER:

A step inside the dome-shaped building is like walking into build-it-yourself world. A giant LEGO helicopter, dragon-riding knight and spaceship share the air space overhead in a nighttime sky. Down on the floor, elaborate displays provide ideas, while products on the shelves provide the materials to make imagination come to life.

Detailed models depict various themes, such as buccaneers on the high sea. Accessories include a Pirate Ship, Skeleton Crew and Volcano Island. Other areas of the store have Western, aquatic, Medieval and city themes. There are even dolls with their own two-story LEGO doll houses. Of course, shoppers can still find the traditional buckets of LEGOs.

But the store's interior is only half the fun. Outside is a 3,000-square-foot hands-on play area filled with thousands of LEGO blocks and a jungle gym. Look around, you're not alone -- the play area is also home to a life-sized LEGO alien family, earth family and a larger-than-life dinosaur family. A 30-foot sea serpent lives in the adjacent lake. Made from more than 1 million LEGO bricks, the friendly serpent sprays mist from its nostrils onto passersby.

The LEGO Imagination Center is located in the Downtown Disney Marketplace, between the World of Disney store and McDonald's. Contact: 407-828-0065.
